Bicycle through the flat streets of Copenhagen, eventually stopping at a brew pub to experience an authentic slice of local life. Copenhagen was named the world’s first official Bike City, and the bicycle culture is deeply ingrained. Bikes are so prevalent that there are supposedly more of them than people, so you will be in good company bicycling. You will start by following a path to the 17th-century pentagram-shaped Citadel, from which you will enjoy a panoramic view of Winston Churchill Park, one of Copenhagen’s revered urban oases. You will then pedal past brightly colored houses lining narrow streets while pausing every so often for photos. For an even closer look into daily life, you will stop in a microbrewery located in a 17th-century building. There you will sample several beers, along with smørrebrød, open-face sandwiches that are considered a national dish. Afterwards, you will visit a supermarket that sourced many of the ingredients.
